ETBS
is South Florida's premier event for science and technology startups
who convene for one day to preview 12 - 15 of the most promising young
companies in our region, and participate in meaningful networking
opportunities throughout the day.
This
year for the first time we are partnering with the Florida Economic
Gardening Institute (FEGI) to include a track for second-stage
companies, those companies who are generating $1 - $25 million in
revenue and who employ 10-50 employees. Economic Gardening was pioneered
by Chris Gibbons in 1989
in the city of Littleton, Colorado. It is an innovative
entrepreneur-centered economic growth strategy that was launched in
Florida in 2009 with funding from the Florida Legislature, and offers
companies that have grown beyond the startup phase a suite of high-end,
high-speed technical assistance and business tools.
Now
in its 13th year, ETBS will provide both 1st and 2nd stage
entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and service providers a venue
to learn about the latest advances in science and technology, hear
from industry veterans who have started and grown successful companies,
and discover new partnership opportunities.
